Couch DB 2.3.1 view os_process_error issue

Hello Couch DB team

We have a new couch db 2.3.1 install and have configured active replication 
from another couch db 2.1.1
But, when we open any of the existing views - we get : OS Process Error 
<0.13566.984> :: {os_process_error,{exit_status,1}}
Any existing views in the 2.1.1 dont time-out
Existing views in 2.3.1 are consistently timing out with above error
