If you decide to bundle umls, I would suggest verifying with the umls team - 
they do provide a rest service to validate users license.

Yes. As per ASL 2.0, you can certainly include/embed Apache cTAKES in 
commercial products. The actual cTAKES UMLS resources are a separate download.
