This looks like Java 9 compatibility issue. Request you to test with Java 8.

Problem: I am unable to load the AE "AggregatePlainTextUMLSFASTProcessor", but "the AggregatePlainTextProcessor" loaded fine. Error log: SEVERE: Initialization of annotator class "org.apache.ctakes.dictionary.lookup2.ae.DefaultJCasTermAnnotator" failed. ... Caused by "java.base/jdk.internal.loader.ClassLoaders$AppClassLoader cannot be cast to java.base/java.net.URLClassLoader" I have attached the log file.
