Thanks Abhishek

Number in name issue occurs when DB name starts with number. It is ok if number
is in between somewhere

use hive.123drill;

Error: PARSE ERROR: Encountered ".123" at line 1, column 9.

Was expecting one of:

    <EOF>

    "." ...

    "[" ...

use hive.drill_test123;

+-------+-------------------------------------------------+

|  ok   |                     summary                     |

+-------+-------------------------------------------------+

| true  | Default schema changed to [hive.drill_test123]  |

+-------+-------------------------------------------------+

1 row selected (2.703 seconds)

Subject: Re: "Insert" statement and number in hive dbname for Drill

Hey Rajesh,

"Insert into table" is currently not supported. Please watch DRILL-3534
<https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/DRILL-3534> for updates on this.

And, the "use" statement cannot be used to directly specify hive database name.
You will need to use the hive storage plugin for this. Refer to [1] and [2].
