I think you're reading about the Web Console login screen on the MapR docs 
<http://doc.mapr.com/display/MapR/Configuring+Web+Console+and+REST+API+Security>
web site. Currently, that feature is available on Drill on MapR version 1.2 
only. We'll clarify the docs.
