I created the follow JIRA https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/DRILL-4744 which outlines my issue. I am reposting here in case any other user comes across this. This is a minor issue, where, when using the Rest API to query a JDBC table, the fully qualified table name (plugin.database.table) fails in the Rest API without first issuing a "use plugin.database" Then it works. This issue does not occur in SQLLine thus makes it a hard to troubleshoot, and thus I thought posting here would allow other users who come across this to see they are not alone.
