I'm going to be doing a Drools 2.5 beta very soon, just doing final touches and checking build. I'm doing this as a beta because it is a big fundamental change. RuleSets, for Java and Groovy, now pre-compiled down to jars with real classes; src jars also made available. Creating a RuleBase is as simply as doing RuleBaseLoader.loadFromURL( url ), where url points to a JAR, no compilation needed - great for people with very large rulesets. Of course the RuleSet compilation and rulebase loading can be done at runtime in the same process, which would be effectively what we had before. I have also moved to Eclipse JDT, so we now have java 5 support.

If you have anything essential to commit, or want fixing, for 2.5 then speak up ASAP. After 2.5 I will be concentrating solely on 3.0, unless something really bad in 2.x rears its ugly head.
