It's the rule language used in Drools 3.X / JBoss Rules. To translate back to 2.X terminology, the 'when' section is the conditions and 'then' is the consequence. The 'when' is not a flow mechanism like do/until or anything like that, if that's why you're making the connection to 'else'. - Geoffrey -- Geoffrey Wiseman
