Eric,

Drools 3 does support dynamic add/removal of rules to/from the rulebase. You can look at the integration tests for samples about that. I'm not aware of any issue in this area. If you find any problem, just let us know.

Please forgive me if I'm beating a dead horse ... I know this has been
brought up before.

Last September I had a conversation on IRC with one of the Drools
authors (it's been a while... I wish I could remember which one it was),
and he told me that the ability to dynamically add rules to an already
built rule base without having to re-assert facts to working memory
would be a 3.0 feature... but from what I'm reading in the mail list
archive this does not seem to be the case.

Do I misunderstand the situation? We'd love to use JBoss Rules but we
need the ability to add rules to an existing set without losing the
working memory state, which we may not be able to rebuild.

Is this possible? If not, is it planned for the future?

Thanks,

Eric
