yeah its an unfortunately side effect of using the name space in the groupId for maven that it ends up buried on the server under /org/something/another/finally/where/is/my/freaking/dependency

makes it hard to navigate the repo to see whats available, hence I think a more meaningful group id makes sense.

Actually, the groupId "org.drools" is correct and "drools" is wrong.
Non namespaced groupId's are legacy from Maven 1, and even in maven 1 they can use namespaced groupId's meanwhile (just at "org." in front of it).

As for searching the repo's, use http://www.mvnrepository.com/ or the upcoming Archiva or google with site:... or ...

    Nevermind,
    I just found out they are available on the central repo, but under a
    different groupId:

             <dependency>
                 <groupId>drools</groupId>
                 <artifactId>drools-core</artifactId>
                 <version>3.0.4</version>
             </dependency>

    Thanks for uploading them there :)
