Just to add to your solution, you can actually use the ClusterClient
(StandaloneClusterClient or YarnClusterClient) to achieve that. For
example,

ClusterClient client = new StandaloneClusterClient(config);
JobID jobID = JobID.fromHexString(jobID);
client.cancelJob(jobID);
