Ok, something I not mentioned before is, that I deploy the web application
packaged in an EAR.


here the geronimo-application.xml:

Are there any differences in deploying between WAR and EAR in combination
with the database pools?

yes I'm sure, the datasource is available and the J2EE connector
is available for stop/uninstall.
