Could you show us the full exception stack ? As in Geronimo 3.0, the server will not extract the web application after the deployment, e.g. FileSystemXmlApplicationContext might not work correctly, and ClassPathXmlApplicationContext might be used. Anyway, just my guess, have not tried it ;-)
