Jean-Pierre, there is an outstanding JIRA 
(https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/GIRAPH-285) to do this, but 
hasn't been completed.  Would really like to remove Hadoop RPC before 
shipping it.

You can use trunk in the meantime (marked as 0.2).
