"Have to" sounds great to me. :-) I think you should ask the Groovy team to
put more emphasis on backwards compatibility in this area. They might not be
aware of the problems they are causing for integrators.

Yes, Spock's GMaven build is finally working thanks to RC-2. Of course the
Gradle 0.4 build runs fine as well. I'm already looking forward to upgrading
to 0.6.
RC-2 has still some class loading issues with local transforms, but I'm sure
we can sort it out until 1.6 final.
