It only works for jars that do not have version numbers. However you can add 
another artifact pattern for that same directory that DOES include the version 
number for the jar files. Both patterns will be tried, in the order they are 
declared, in an attempt to find the jar

Doesn't this only work if none of the jars in a directory have version
numbers.  I have the situation where I have some with no versions and
some with versions.  Or perhaps I should just try it and see?
