Got my vote as well.  I just voted for
http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/GRADLE-86 which looks like it would
have the desired affect.  Now if you were to couple that with a
central gradle plugin repo that is checked for plugins that aren't in
the core you'd really be on to something.
