I thought I would add 1.8 to the list of Groovy versions supported by
Gant. I added a new variant build name to the settings.gradle file and
appropriate information to the build.gradle file. All the old builds
build fine and the tests complete: 1.6.9, 1.7.4 and trunk
(1.8.0-beta-1), so I am fairly confident the issue is not a Gant one per
se.

As far as I can tell the new 1.8 variant build compiles fine using
1.8.0-beta-1 from the Maven repository. However at test time it all
goes awry. The error messages say that the GantTestCase class cannot be
found yet the class is in the build area and the build area is in the
application classpath.

Hopefully there is something trivially wrong that I am missing --
actually there has to be -- but I can't see it, and I have no idea how
to investigate this given that the -d information seems insufficient to
the task.

Thanks.
