Gradle doesn't pick up my libraries, though, so it still throws compiler
errors.
When I add the line
compile name: 'struts2-core'
to the repositories it throws an exception:
Cause: Could not find method compile() for arguments [{name=struts2-core}]
on root project 'StrutsHelloWorld'.
