Final update on this because I've found a workaround. When I added "group:
'net.sf.json-lib', name: 'json-lib', version: '2.3', classifier: 'jdk15'" as a
dependency, everything started working fine. Apparently, the classifier was
what was needed since that is what was downloaded originally. I have no idea
why this is, but for now, I'm good.
