Sounds like a class path problem. Maybe you have both JUnit 3 and JUnit 4 on
the class path? More information would help (stack trace, versions of Gradle
and Geb, build script, etc.).

I've never had a problem running Geb from a Gradle build (but I didn't use
the JUnit integration). Example is here:
