Now, when I specify a 3rd party plugin as a build script dependency, the
daemon is no longer useful. The 1st run succeeds, but the 2nd run fails
with spurious classloader errors.
FYI, I've added a Jira with a test case:

I hope someone can have a look. It seems that Daemon classloading is not
yet sophisticated enough.
