Check, my mistake. I had not noticed I'd been logged out of the forum.
So the system was right in denying access. It seems the forum
behaviour is somewhat different as some I'm used to e.g. the cookie
expires quicker or whatever. (or it's with the open id stuff which I'm
using for the first time) The edit button appears now.
