The staging/1.0.0 branch appears to work perfectly fine for me (which is good news - means that this issue shouldn't delay that release). With the master branch, I'm able to reproduce the issue that you see, here, and I'm guessing that the 404 error you're seeing is actually causing the web UI to fail. Looks like something recently has caused a regression in functionality of that module and it's going to need to be fixed.
