It isn't, at least not with firefox. I have to vertically scroll to get
to the bottom of the terminal, so something is not right with the size
calculation, at least in the vertical direction.

The size is not static; it is dictated by the browser size. The number of
rows and columns is calculated such that the terminal will fit in the
browser window exactly. The terminal will also update as necessary when the
browser is resized.
It would be nice if there were arguments to set this geometry or at
least guarantee it fit in the browser window without scrolling.
This should already be the case.
