Hello Nick: I figured it out - on some systems, it was asking for a password and on some it wasn't - there had to be a password for the ones which were asking for them, and no password for the ones which weren't.

You'll probably have to tweak the RealVNC options to get it to work, but I'm guessing there's some sort of RealVNC option for this.
