We've had a fair number of folks report issues using the latest version in Ubuntu, which tends to keep up with the FreeRDP repository fairly well. I use CentOS7 and Amazon Linux, and don't have any issues with the latest packages there connecting to Server 2003, 2008 (+R2), 2012 (+R2), 2016, and 2019, via RDP. -Nick
