You're definitely welcome to throw your input into the Jira issue and
make your case for going that direction. I think the defacto direction
would be Angular, but I think we're willing to discuss alternatives.

No, this issue is not blocking the release of Guacamole 1.5.0. There
are several other outstanding issues already being worked on that are
blocking the 1.5.0 release, and we will release when those are done.
