No, there is nothing else you need to do. As long as the users are
members of the relevant groups, they will inherit the permissions
granted to those groups when they log in to Guacamole.
What database (and version) are you using? And what JDBC driver (and
version)? There have been cases where an older/newer version of MySQL
combined with a newer/older version of the MySQL "Connector/J" driver
produced incorrect results for the queries used by Guacamole.

Permissions are definitely automatically inherited from groups, so my
initial suspicion here is that relevant group memberships are simply
somehow not reaching Guacamole, are possibly are not correctly mapped.
