Hi all,

I want to share a very easy way to directly print to a physical printer with Guacamole.

Install the tool Folder Agent (Windows Freeware) from http://www.folderagent.com/ on the client (assuming it is Windows Client). Set it up to monitor a folder for *.pdf and automatically print them to the specified local printer, then move the document to a different folder for backup or later deletion. During the move the PDF can also be renamed like "printed_{{ Now | dateformat 'yyyy.dd.MM-HH_mm_ss'}}_{{ attributes.name }}".

You only have to teach the end user to store the documents in the monitored folder and they get printed this way.

The solution works very good and maybe this shared information helps others.

On the Linux side the same could be done using

incrond or pyinotify

...of course.

Kind regards

Peter
