Hello Patai, Yes, there is support for prepending lines with '#' to designate comments. This feature was implemented in jira issue HADOOP-4454:
https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HADOOP-4454 This was done ~5 years ago, so unless you're running a very old version, I expect your deployment has the feature.
