Gagan What version of hadoop or distribution are you using? I believe the issue was logged in YARN 4452 and fixed in certain versions, including HDP 2.4. https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/YARN-4452
If you use the newer versions of hadoop, you should not see the issue.
