Hi, HBASE-2183 is more of a general goal than a specific task, so it's hard to say whether anyone is actively working on this specific task. A number of the general stability improvements should help here for riding over short transient errors. Riding over longer failures (on the order of minutes instead of seconds) probably will require special support.
I think everyone agrees that this is a good thing to have, but it's unclear whether it will get done in time for the 0.90 release at this point. -Todd On Tue, Jun 29, 2010 at 8:09 PM, SABURI Tetsu <[email protected]> wrote: > Hi, Todd. > > What's the status of HBASE-2183 (or some functions that mitigate the risk > of HDFS SPOF)? > > Last month, HBASE-2183 was moved from 0.21 to 0.22. > Is it scheduled to be included in 0.89.YYYYMMDD or 0.90? > > -- > SABURI, Tetsu > > > (2010/06/26 15:00), Todd Lipcon wrote: > >> Dear HBase Community, >> >> The HBase team is pleased to announce the release of HBase 0.89.20100621. >> This release is the first of a series of "development releases" that will >> lead up to the release of HBase 0.90 later this year.
