On hdfs, I see this directory being created
/deanhdfs/data/hadooptmp/mapred/system ONLY when I start hbase on a brand new hadoop system with no files. On my datanodes, mapred had correctly created /deanhdfs/data/hadooptmp/mapred/local/ And I have even debugged jobs using IsolationRunner out of those local datanode directories. The ONLY place I refer to /deanhdfs/data/hadooptmp is in "core-site.xml file" which has just two properties <property> <name>fs.default.name</name> <value>hdfs://DNVR-DEV3.test.jsq.bsg.ad.adp.com:54310</value> </property> <property> <name>hadoop.tmp.dir</name> <value>/deanhdfs/data/hadooptmp</value> </property> Any ideas?
