With snappy being apache licensed and can just be included with hbase I would say snappy has the
most traction and will just gain more moving forward. It is really fast and will be / can be
included in hbase without any license restrictions. One of the reasons lzo is such a pain is
because it is gpl and cannot be included with hbase directly.
