we are using v0.20.6, the old version of HBase, it looks that the closing operation sometimes doesn't work well. the phenomena include following cases: 1. master has sent the close command while the process stopped after the data flush. the .META. is not changed and read/write to the region (which is to be closed) is still available. 2. the region in case 1 generates message stating it has been out of service. 3. .META. has been changed with the IP/PortNo of a regionserver being already removed, while the new entry cannot be established and therefore client cannot find the corresponding entry in the .META. for the region. are all these symptoms related to a single bug or they have different mechanism? can upgrading to v0.90.4 get rid of these troubles? considering we have had old clients written with the 0.20.6 API, is the v0.90.6 API backward compatible so that the old clients can still run without troubles? thanks again. and sorry if some questions are trivial. best regards, maoke chen
