Hey there, as part of a way to get people up and running with ActiveQuant, we have tied up a bundle of all necessary tools on one QEmu image.
The QEmu image contains a debian linux and a jdk and: --> Hadoop 0.20.x and HBase 0.90.4 Everything is set up and runs smooth. Just download the QEmu image, start it up in QEmu, play around with HBase and Hadoop. My lib also contains some access code to store and retrieve time series data in and from HBase. If you know someone that just wants to get going with HBase, without going through the pain of configuring interfaces, etc. this might be good for them.
