With maven it becomes quite trivial to create an hbase app.
You would add the hbase dependency:
<dependency>
<groupId>org.apache.hbase</groupId>
<artifactId>hbase</artifactId>
<version>${hbase.version}</version>
</dependency>
and possibly the hbase repository
<repository>
<id>hbase</id>
<url>https://repository.apache.org/content/repositories/releases/</url>
</repository>
and you are ready to go.
