By definition .Meta keeps a list of all regions. If there is a lock on .Meta it doesn't allow you to get you the regions. So logically it should stop only new data coming. However read should happen as it was happening earlier and hence you can still fetch the data when row level lock on .Meta. Make sense ?? What happens if you apply a row lock to a row in the .META. table? Its 5:00 am my local time and I was thinking about solving a problem. (Again thinking this early in the morning without the aide of caffeine is not a good idea.) :-) Does RLL lock just updates or does it stop all access to the row? (dirty reads?)
