Hi guys, I would like to temporarily reduce the number of changes to hfiles through minor and major compactions and splitting to a minimum. Is there a way to achieve this without having to restart the entire cluster. Perhaps it would be enough for example to set: hbase.hregion.majorcompaction=0 only on the hbase-master process and restart it.
