Hi Ted, I am using, HBase version - "Version 0.94.6.1.3.0.0-107" from HDP.
I checked the Regin Server Log, they were looking ok. I followed the answer given by Pradeep below, and my query time got significantly reduced to 500 ms. Though, I was thinking, Prefix Filter will use the Index of Row Key, to get the results as HBase store's the data lexicographically. But, it seem's it does not optimise there.
