Updates are blocked for period hbase.hstore.blockingWaitTime? or Updates can't be put into memstore? My understanding is the former. Certainly, updates can also be blocked by some memstore threshold, eg., hbase.regionserver.global.memstore.upperLimit or hbase.hregion.memstore.block.multiplier.
