Hello HBase Users, I wanted to let you know that a new release 1.0.0 of the Trafodion project is now available for download at http://downloads.trafodion.org/. This is a major release, including substantial improvements designed to make Trafodion the Enterprise-class Transactional SQL Engine for HBase and Hadoop in general.
Here is a summary of the production-ready features in this release: 1. High Availability improvements: recovery from a wide variety of failures 2. A number of performance improvements 3. Bulk unloader (a bulk loader was provided previously) 4. Several manageability features such as availability of in-flight query statistics, query cancel, and logging 5. ANSI schemas and security support In addition, there are a number of "Technology Preview" features, that is, features that are partly complete or more commonly, code complete but not yet fully QA'd: 1. DML against Hive tables 2. IDENTITY columns and sequence generators 3. Several features designed to ease porting of Oracle applications 4. Backup/restore 5. A multi-threaded JDBC Type 2 driver 6. Storage of session and query statistics in repository tables In addition, there are fixes for 85 defects.
