I have debugged this issue and found that the previously presented solution [1] 
does indeed work with Rackspace ServiceNet.

I think we should create a ā€œRackspaceServiceNetModuleā€ module so that internal 
URL takes precedence when necessary. When clients need to access ServiceNet 
from their Cloud Servers, they just have to add this module to the 
configuration.  I still need to look at what that is going to look like for 
1.7, but in the meantime, you should be able to use this approach with the 
current Rackspace providers (cloudfiles-us/cloudfiles-uk).

I will update the docs and put together a new sample under the 
jclouds-examples/rackspace [2] directory so that we can point people to that 
going forward.
