I don't understand the distinction made between "documents" and "blobs" though. The entities uploaded to Google Drive can be up to 1TB (or 1TiB?) in size, so I'd think that qualifies as large. They certainly are binaries. I guess jclouds' "blobs" are more than the name suggests? All I really care for is some reasonable easily usable interface to ferry opaque chunks of data back and forth between the local host and the target "in the cloud". The Java SDK for Google's Drive is, uh, not exactly intuitive (not to speak of OAuth2), so I was hoping for jclouds to make my job a bit easier ;-) Looking at [1], Google Drive matches the criteria listed there for a BlobStore •Globally addressable •Key, value with metadata •Accessed via HTTP •Containers are provisioned on demand through API calls •Unlimited scaling •Most are billed on a usage basis with the exception of Containers (not sure about "unlimited" scaling, but I believe up to 16TB per account it is limited only by your budget). But don't quote me on such, I'm still trying to understand the various offerings and explore my options. ~ Guenther [1] http://jclouds.apache.org/start/blobstore/
