Also, I can do the random number in a BSF sampler and have done so for
a long time. I recently added the Random Variable element to replace
the BSF sampler.
The problem with a BSF sampler is that every iteration is counted in
the Aggregate Report. I run at least 500 threads and have many, many
iterations that skews with my total counts. The Random Variable is
not in the Aggregate Report.
My script is pretty simple.
randt = vars.get("randtop");
var randomx=Math.floor(Math.random()*randt);
vars.put("GR",randomx);
