You must have sufficient space on your machine to support the allocation of the 
heap.  You may have other applications running which are consuming memory or 
you may not have sufficient memory to support the size heap you have specified.


  1.  Check for other applications running consuming memory
  2.  reduce jmeter's heap until it can run.
  3.  run on a larger machine

I am using apache jmeter 2.9 in Windows XP. The heap size is also increased 
till 2048MB.
