Seed data to database using Jmeter

Hi
I'm trying to seed data to a database using jmeter (HTTP Request), and then 
follow this with a READ of this data (HTTP Request).
However I only want the read to be calculated in the perf results, not the 
initial write / seed.
Also I'm running from the command line so  I have all UI reports turned off.
Any idea how to achieve this, i.e. not calculate the write operation.
