You need to make sure that JMeter has enough resources in order to run your
tests. Like memory, CPU, network (socket) resources. Same as with any other
performance testing tool really.
You do not specify how many jmeter instances are running your tests, my
expierience is that running 1000 threads in a single jmeter jvm is quite tricky
and often requires some tuning and I would say like at least 12GB of heap using
the G1 collector. But that heavily depends on the complexity of your scripts.
Distribute the load generation over more than one jmeter jvm (and prefferably
machines, IP adresses etc).

Tuning wise you can turn of features like parse css, js and html, not save
response content, and obviously not use any listeners in your testplan that
consume a lot of memory. I only use Simple File Writer for logging errors and
the Background Listener to send metrics to InfluxDB for real time analysis in
Grafana with for example the provided dashboard in JMeter.

Hello

When i test castr link with Jmeter, the performance results get skewed.
https://player.castr.com/live_b1c5cac06e1e11f1a1fb13e06ed8df11

Jmeter gives very high response times of castr under load (1000 concurrent
users or so), memory of the JMeter machine itself gets finished.
However castr itself takes less than a second without JMeter.

Any thoughts?
