Hi kurt,
i just re-read the precedents e-mails and i founed out that i skipped some
steps ;

i don't have "mv" command on windows, so what do i do !!
do i just rename
RENAME4SALES_juddi_custom_install_data BY juddi_custom_install_data (it didn't
work)

Note :
a.. i don't want to create a node, i just want to change the host name.
b.. my hostname is diffrent than sales (is that a problem !)

Can you try on linux just to see if your setup works in that environment?
I don't have access to a windows machine right now..

I just downloaded a fresh juddi-portal-bundle-3.0.4, and followed the
instructions in Chapter 11

http://juddi.apache.org/docs/3.0/userguide/html/chap-Subscription.html#sect-subscription_intro

cd juddiv3/WEB-INF/classes
mv RENAME4SALES_juddi_custom_install_data juddi_custom_install_data

and I made sure 'sales' resolves to my IP address (192.168.1.19 sales, in my
/etc/hosts file)

then I started tomcat: ./start.sh

When I access: http://sales:8080/juddiv3 I see

Node Information
          Root Partition: uddi:juddi.apache.org
          Node Id: uddi:juddi.apache.org:business-sales-asf
Name: An Root Sales jUDDI Node
Description: This is a UDDI v3 registry node as implemented by Apache
jUDDI.

Now I click on portal and log in as root/root or sales/sales

and I can browse the services..

I've tried this on linux and OSX.

Are you on one of those platforms?

Are you binding tomcat to the same hostname? Can you see the jsp page at:

      http://<hostname>:8080/juddiv3

        Hi kurt,

        well in ~\Tomcat\webapps\uddi-portlets\WEB-INF\classes\META-INF there
is 3 files :
          a.. uddi.xml
          b.. uddi.xml.marketing
          c.. uddi.xml.sales

        So if i rename uddi.xml.marketing to uddi.xml, so i'll have 2 files
having the same name.
1.. i replaced uddi.xml by the new one.
          2.. i removed uddi.xml.marketing and uddi.xml.sales

But in this 2 cases i obtained the same result (attached file). i don't
know what else i can do ? Please Help

        Think's again

        Hi Amine,

Just make sure you rename uddi.xml.marketing to uddi.xml if that is the
one you want to use.
Other then that I see no reason why it would not work.

The reason of my problem is that i wanted to change the localhost by
a hostname, so i changed it in the following files :
a.. the 04 files mentioned chapter 11 (changing the port)
            b..
~\Tomcat\webapps\uddi-portlets\WEB-INF\classes\juddiv3.properties
            c..
~\Tomcat\webapps\uddi-portlets\WEB-INF\classes\META-INF\uddi.xml.marketing

i get this error after entering the portlet :
